Ladyswell Utd (B) 0 v 2 FC Hibernian
-
Ladyswell B returned back to action this week in Damastown after a weekend off last week. Manager Mick Loftus had been forced into a number of changes from the previous game against Smithfield. The Ladyswell side looked to start brightly on a cold Saturday afternoon.
-
It was the away side Hibernian dressed in all White who started the brighter and they thought they had scored early on only to be denied by a fabulous save by Robert Simpson who continued in the same vain of his Smithfield performance where he won man of the match award. Simpson was soon called into action again but this time seen him tip the ball easily over the crossbar.
-
The early pressure woke up Ladyswell and Alan King drove a low shot wide of the Hibernian goal to remind the away side Ladyswell were a danger. It was almost 1 v 0 to the home side when the returning Shane Smith found King in space but the keeper saved well. Once again Keith Clarke on the left hand side was causing problems and had a couple of opportunities to put the home side ahead.

Fc Hibernian had been taken slightly out of the game by Ladyswell who had begun to control the game, Hibernian once again proved they were dangerous and thought they had taken the lead but a push on centre half Stephen Keenan was given. FC Hibernian soon took the lead when they beat Robert Simpson in the Ladyswell goal but Simpson was very unlucky to concede as once again he was in good form.

Ladyswell started the second half very brightly and looked the better side but Hibernian once again had tested Simpson on three occasions only to be denied by some top class goalkeeping. Ladyswell should of been on level terms when Michael Nolan had the best chance of the game only to hit the Hibernian goalkeeper straight in the chest.
-
Ladyswell came more into the ascend ency after a great period which seen them reduced to ten men for a second bookable offence. It was all Ladyswell and Keith Clarke and Paul O'Rielly were playing really well and had caused considerable trouble but the equaliser just would not come.
-
Ladyswell manager Mick Loftus made a swift change with 15 minutes to go with a young fresh lad in Stephen Dempsey come on in place of the elder statesman Paul Hughes. Dempsey almost had the deserved effect when he skipped by two lads and almost played through a perfect ball to the advancing Keith Clarke who had switched to the right side but Clarke was closed down very quickly.
-
Ladyswell continued to push forward and showed some brilliant spirit but the away side took a 2 v 0 lead after a well placed free kick evaded Simpson who just could not get across. Ladyswell continued to push forward but just could not find a deserved goal. A wonderful performance by the home side and some brilliant spirit hopefully this will spur them on to get the victory they deserve.
