Ladyswell made the long trip to Sarto Park for an unusual 3pm kick off, Ladyswell would travel without the two Doyle brothers but would still bring a 20 man squad. Manager Michael Wilders once again would have some difficult decisions to make on his starting eleven.
-
The home side settled quickly and although Ladyswell started brightly as well the first opportunity was created by the home side but the effort was well wide of the Ladyswell goal. The away side pushed forward and after good passing by Samuel Nevin, John Walsh and Mark Pearce Ladyswell whipped in a good ball only for David Farrell just heading wide.
-
David Moran in the Ladyswell goal was kept very quiet but had to make a good save mid way through the first half. The game was played mainly in the middle of the park with both sides were fighting for every inch. Ladyswell should of been one nil up when Graham O'Kelly played a wonderful ball through to David Farrell and a superb strike hit the crossbar and crossed the line but the referee did not give the goal.
-
Sarto also continued to push forward but a resolute Ladyswell defence cleared their lines on a number of occasions. Ladyswell manager Michael Wilders felt his team should of had a penalty late on in the first half when Stephen Hand went on another one of his mazzy runs down the left the Sarto defence had two kicks but on both occasions Hand was just to honest and stayed on his feet.
-
The second half started the quite hard and the challenges from both sides were flying in and Ladyswell were shortly after reduced to 10 men. Ladyswell continued to play football the way they do but also defended resolutely. Sarto continued to push forward but Ladyswell continued to set the two banks of four which made it difficult and the home side were reduced to long shots.
-
Ladyswell late on should of taken all three points when substitute Gary Nolan found himself in space but the Sarto goalkeeper got across to deny the opportunity. Just before the final whistle Ladyswell gave away a free kick but the Sarto striker blazed the ball over the bar.
-
Ladyswell continue on their clean sheet and have now gone 270 minutes without conceding and they have now also taken seven points out of nine available.
