Ladyswell Get No Boh

Bohs Sc 0 v 3 Ladyswell Sunday
-
Unfortunately Bohs were unable to field a team so Ladyswell picked up the three points and a three nil win but as Bohs had nine men Ladyswell would give them two players and a friendly would take place which seen manager Michael Wilders make a number of changes from last week.
-
Bohs 3 v 4 Ladyswell (Sunday) - Friendly-
-
Mark O'Donnell and Alan Devlin would done the Bohemians jerseys for this one and midway through the second half so would Thomas Hand. Ladyswell started brightly and an unlikely scorer set them on their way with Moloney opening his account.
-
Ladyswell would soon be pegged back but the away side were not to be denied and Stephen Hand returned to the scoresheet as he gave Ladyswell another lead. Ladyswell were playing nice football but the friendly atmosphere and the number of changes found them slightly lacklustre.
-
The game itself seemed to be going sideways as both sides were enjoying the friendly and were trying all the flicks and passing and Gary Nolan benefited as Ladyswell got a penalty and he duly stuck it away.
-
After some unlikely defending by Ladyswell the home side got themselves back in the game and then Ladyswell stepped it up again and Gary Nolan netted his second of the day but Bohs were not done and placed a lovely free kick in the bottom corner.
-
Ladyswell Sunday would also see a cameo from a returning Colm Moran late on in the second half.

Up's and Down's

The Positive
-
Kill Fc 2 v 2 Ladyswell B
-
Mick Loftus and his charges travelled the long distance to Naas to face a Kill side who had recently seen off their C side in a one sided game. Mick Loftus would be forced into a number of changes as Ciaran Ennis, Robert Simpson and Ian Kenna.
-
Ladyswell were dealt an early blow when the captain Dermot Ennis limped off with his knee injury which is persisting and also stopped him from starting against Hoganville last week. This would see last seasons top scorer Shane Smith would revert to centre half.
-
The team played the ball around really well and tested the home side on a number of occasions with Mick Loftus pleasantly pleased with his team who put in a valiant response with Keith Clarke and David Farrell on the score sheet and came away with a deserved draw despite being reduced to ten late on.
-
Ladyswell B

The Negative
Inchicore Rangers 4 v 0 Ladyswell C
-
Ladyswell C like there counterparts Ladyswell B have yet to pick up a league win but this week their focus changed to the Sheeran cup and would travel to Brickfields to play high flying Inchicore rangers from the outset the home side seemed to have the rub of the green and Ladyswell C just could not get their game going. Although Ladyswell C had a welcomed break from the league and the continuing bad run which had not been helped by being reduced to nine men.
-
Although the away side fought hard the home side would take advantage and leave with three points in the Sheeran cup and leave Ladyswell with a mountain to climb in their group.
-
Ladyswell C
1. Peter Flynn - 2. Jay Cash - 3. Johnny Curran - 4. Garreth Weldon - 5. Conor Flynn - 6. Kevin Caulfield - 7. Christopher Shelley - 8. Mark Gemmell - 9. Robbie Kelly - 10. Ben O'Farrell- 11. Damien Bernes

Sunday Side Get Out Of Jail

Shamrock Celtic 3 v 4 Ladyswell (Sunday)
-
After making seven changes for last weeks game against Woodbine Ladyswell manager Michael Wilders reverted to his normal formation. Moloney would move back into the defence with the return of David Moran.
-
Ladyswell started brightly and early on tested the Shamrock keeper who made a fabulos save. Ladyswell's way ward shooting was beginning to prove a problem as a number of shots found their way into the Northside Shopping center car park.
-
Ladyswell soon beat the home side keeper when a cross come shot from Thomas Hand ended up in the Shamrock net but this only evened up the game at on all. The home team were kick started by the equaliser and were soon back in front just before half time after some sloppy defending.
-
Moloney paid the price at half time for the disjointed back four. The second half seen a better performance from the away side and despite a blip midway through which seen Shamrock get their third the "Fiddler" Show took over as he went on to secure the win with a hat-trick on the day. So Ladyswell take three points on the road in the Sheeran Cup.
-
Ladyswell Sunday

Ladyswell C 0 v 3 Islandbridge

Ladyswell Still Cant get Over the Victory Bridge
-
Ladyswell C manager Kevin Caulfield has been working hard to get his lads ready for their weekend fixtures by focusing on the football aspect. Unfortunately for Kevin and Ladyswell C they would be without a couple of regulars including their Goalkeeper.
-
Fresh from his Tv appearance Johnnie Walker took charge of this one and as always Johnnie was keen to protect the players from heavy challenges which seen the game focus on football. Ladyswell started brightly but the Away side grew into the game and took the lead with a goal that found the keeper on the small side.
-
As Ladyswell looked to push on and get an equaliser Islandbridge broke well and some good football seen the second goal sneak in. Ladyswell C were now under pressure and were trying to push Islandbridge back but unfortunately they were wasteful in their efforts and a solitary second half shot on target from the home side seen Ladyswell falter and Islandbridge took a third goal to kill off the game.
-
Ladyswell C
1. Peter Flynn - 2. Tom Kirnin - 3. Johnny Curran - 4. Garreth Weldon - 5. Conor Flynn - 6. Kevin Caulfield - 7. Christopher Shelley - 8. Mark Gemmell - 9. Robbie Kelly - 10. Steven Pinston - 11. Damien Bernes

Goals Galore Sink Ladyswell B

Ex Liffey Pearce Striker Runs Riot
-
Ladyswell B welcomed Hoganville to Damastown, it would be the first time Hoganville had been back in Damastown since their promotion to division 1. The two sides started brightly with the first chance falling to the home side. Ladyswell looked to play some nice football but it was the away side who took the lead after some decent football from back to front.
-
Hoganville kicked on from their goal and began to grow in confidence Ladyswell continued to play the right way but the Division one side showed why they have not lost this season as they continued forward and racked up the goals. Ladyswell continued to try play football and got a consolation goal late in the first half.
-
Ladyswell B
1. Robert Simpson - 2. Ian Kenna - 3. Paul Hughes - 4. John Cunningham - 5. Stephen Keenan (Capt) - 6. Ciaran Ennis - 7. Jay Morgan - 8. Aidan Burke - 9. Alan King - 10. Ricky Egan- 11. Keith Clarke

In The Past

Ladyswell United FC 1990 - 1991
-
Looking back through the past of Ladyswell United I came across some wonderful memories. The Club at the time had from under 8's up to under 18's. Michael Walsh who was chairman then is still chairman now and my father Tom Moloney was club secretary a job now done by Michael Wilders. Mick was also bus driver and manager of one if not two of the teams.

A flashback Tom Moloney Club secretary at the time with Howard Pearce manager of Ladyswell united collect awards for their under 9's runner up season. It really was a family affair as it is now with Howard and Tom's sons involved with the club today.

Under 9's with their runner up trophies recognise anybody?

Dalton Disaster

Ladyswell United's Dalton cup challenge for the 2010 - 2011 season came to an abrupt end over the weekend with the three Senior teams falling to defeats in their 2nd Round Ties.
-
Moorefield 1 v 0 Ladyswell B
Ladyswell B who travelled to the Phoenix Park to face Moorefieldin their Dalton Cup game. The two sides who the played out a one all draw at the first game of the season seen Moorefield strike deny Ladyswell B a place in the next round. Ladyswell B who have had a hard start to the season put in a wonderful performance and even manager Mick Loftus found himself on the card with a very depleted side who were quite unlucky not to get something from the game.
-
Colepark 3 v o Ladyswell C
Ladyswell C like their counterparts Ladyswell B they had a tough away tie in the Lawns and the Dalton draw was not kind as they fell to a three nil defeat although they have been putting up a strong fight and the win will come shortly for Kevin and the lads
-
Ladyswell (Sun) 2 v 4 Woodbine
Come Sunday morning Michael Wilders charges remained the only side in the Dalton cup from the Ladyswell stable Michael decided to tweek the team and give some players a rest and some a chance and it looked to be going really well as they took an early lead through Martin White but the away side came back and ended up winning the game as Ladyswell pushed on to get back in the game at 3 v 2 down Woodbine broke and finished the game off.
-
So the Senior sides joined their valiant under 19's out of the Dalton Cup. The teams now focus on the Sheeran for some cup joy.
